Where To Stay In Bali – Bali Apartments In Seminyak

If you have decided to visit Bali, Indonesia on your next holiday, you’re in for a real treat. There are few places that have retained their distinct local culture amidst a rapidly expanding tourist industry as gracefully as Bali has. You will find everything that a holiday maker could possibly want–spectacular nightlife, excellent shopping, superb restaurants and more–on this island, but you’ll never be far from a small Balinese temple or the smell of incense as locals perform their daily religious rituals. All this begs the question however: where to stay? Villas are notoriously expensive, hotels possibly overpriced and cramped, but I’d like to suggest an additional option in the form of Bali apartments.

A serviced apartment rental might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you consider your choices for accommodations for the next holiday you take with your family. But along with the growth in Bali has experienced in recent years have come many new apartment complexes that offer a cheaper alternative to people who reside on the island for only part of the year. Many ex-pats combine business with a short stay on the island when they do come, and so their units are vacant for much of the year. It’s easy to find these people on the Internet advertising short-term rentals, and savvy visitors are starting to realize that dealing directly with an absentee owner for a stay of a week or two, or even longer, is a way to be in a unit that feels a lot like home, and probably for much less money than other options.

For people who aren’t interested of the over-the-top tourism (and non-stop partying) in places like Kuta, the Seminyak neighborhood has become the area of choice for either short-term or long-term stays in Bali. Its location means that you are near the beach and everything else you’re looking for, without subjecting yourself and your family to the traffic and round-the-clock street noise as you will find further south. For many people, places like Seminyak and Legian are the “sweet spot” in terms of a place to stay in Bali.

It’s hard to find Bali hotels for less than $50 US per night nowadays, and for that price in crowded areas of the island you’ll most likely get an unremarkable room. On the other hand for a two-week stay should be very easy to find an apartment in Bali for less than US $700 that a lower and three-star hotel room would run you. Look online, check around, and seriously consider a short-term Bali apartment rental on your next trip to this wonderful tourist destination.
